All F-6 students engage in STEM classes one hour a week through Korean. In addition, children also have a 40 minute Korean language class each week. Japanese and English Literacy CLIL approach at Huntingdale Primary School Huntingdale Primary School uses the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach to plan teaching and learning across the school in both Japanese and English. They find the CLIL approach facilitates clear processes for explicitly planning for both language and content teaching at all levels. The focus on identifying the language students need to learn to be able to engage with any area of the curriculum scaffolds teacher planning and instruction and supports the development of students’ literacy skills. CLIL at Newlands Primary School Newlands Primary School, located in the inner Melbourne suburb of Preston West, uses the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach in its provision of Spanish. All F-6 students are involved in the CLIL program which includes the teaching of Maths, Music and literacy through Spanish. The school leadership and school community value the contribution that the CLIL approach provides for supporting student language development and engagement in learning. Music through Spanish at Newlands Primary School This clip features a Year 1/2 Music lesson being taught in Spanish at Newlands Primary School. It showcases the way the CLIL approach is used to support students to develop skills and understandings in both Music and the Spanish language. They hosted a MLTAV CLIL Network workshop at their school in September 2017 which provided an opportunity for teachers to observe their CLIL programs and engage in CLIL PL. Students of the online university can explore 30 different video lectures in three faculties: Humankind, Nature and Technology. In 7 lessons, the children learn how to grow a bean plant.
